Joyce Nadine (Sams) Van SchoikJoyce Nadine (Sams) Van Schoik, 91, resident of Brookdale Senior Living and formerly of Dunkirk, passed away peacefully at 9:45 p.m. Friday, June 21, 2024.She was born Aug. 9, 1932, in Hardin County, to Donald Sams and Doris (McBride) (Sams) Wedertz. Joyce grew up in Dunkirk and graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1950.She married Harvey Benson Van Schoik on Oct. 26, 1950, and he preceded her in death after more than 66 years together.Joyce is survived by her children, Tim (Samantha Naug) Van Schoik of Apex, North Carolina, and Lynn Dee (Van Schoik) Schank of Findlay; three grandchildren, Joshua Van Schoik of Colorado, Katherine (Van Schoik) Renaud of Chicago, Illinois, and Sarah (Don) Burdette of Fremont, California; three great-grandchildren, Ashton Van Schoik and Lilah and Trent Burdette; five half-brothers, Doyle (Sharon) Sams, David Sams, Duane Sams, Devere Sams, and Dennis (Sue) Sams, all of Hardin County; and brother-in-law, Richard Hipsher of Fi
